Maarten was a good friend and colleague of mine for many years. Maarten was a pioneer of the field, and was especially known for his work on Prolog and on Constraint Programming. During his retirement, he wrote several superb articles which you can find on the site “A Programmers Place” (https://ift.tt/75pnKzj). Maarten, I will miss our many lively discussions!
