Ask HN: Why isn’t there a standard network audio protocol?
by armagon on Hacker News.
Having been frustrated again in using bluetooth from a computer to a smart speaker — ugh! I swear connections only work half the time, and it isn’t due to RF interference — I’m wondering why there isn’t a standard protocol for transmitting audio over the network. I think it would be so much easier to use. [I’m talking about having my devices at home talk to each other. They are already on the same network.]
