Endangered Sumatran tiger dies at Washington zoo after suffering severe injuries during breeding introduction

Kirana, a 6-year-old Sumatran tiger at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, died Monday after being introduced to a potential mate as part of a breeding plan to help save the endangered species, according to zoo officials.
